We were at a wheat king game last week,some time during the game a couple of players decided they were going to fight. they took they gloves off and helments,they moved to center ice,(not sure if on purpose or not ) ,the refs just skated around them waiting for them to fight and then,let them fight until they both hit the ice. the refs had about 20 seconds to stop the fight before one of them even through a punch.then after they broke it up, they hand them a 5 minute penatly.yet the next time it happens,the refs dive in and break it up asap.do they(refs) do this so it make the game more exciting ? l know hockey is a rough sport,and fights are going to break out and l'm not bashing the game or anyone else .could any refs tell me why they do this ?
