Statement from Amy Nixon:

"During the bronze-medal game, I made a comment during the seventh end about the Russian team after both teams were trying to sweep a rock behind the teeline.
I made the comment in the heat of the moment, and it in no way reflects who am as a person, as a curler or as a teammate. Like every team we competed against this past week in Swift Current, I have nothing but respect and admiration for Team Russia, and I congratulate them on their bronze-medal victory.
I’d like to apologize to all those who took offence at the comment, and wish to make it clear that it should not reflect on what was an amazing experience and privilege — to represent our country at a world curling championship.
I’d also like to thank all of our amazing fans who stuck with us through thick and thin through this memorable season. It was an honour to wear the Maple Leaf, and we can’t wait to do it again next February in St. Catharines."
