Does anyone know what is going to be built on that lot?

believe the former gas station land is finally being re mediated.

Im thinking, from the looks of it, that their just removing the left over contaminated soil from the site. Time will tell I guess.

That site was supposedly cleaned up about a decade ago. I've been watching for the "future home of" or "coming soon" signs but as others have said it looks like the job wasn't done right the first time around. Was by there today and a large blue tank was there looking like it was ready to go in to the hole that was dug. I'm guessing, and that's all it is' is a guess. it's an airiator (SP) to dispel fumes from the soil.

I think a bylaw was passed that these properties were given 5 years to clean up their act. Some councillors thought 3 years was plenty of time to clean up but others believed it would take 5 years to do properly. I agree with a 3 year clean up. Get our city cleaned up of eyesores. If a company can't do a proper clean up in 3 years, what's going to light a fire under their butt in the last two years to clean up a property so it meets the standard?

It would be interesting to see what goes in there after its been cleaned up. Residential or commercial?

Its good to see that location is finally getting cleaned up. There's another former gas location downtown that was owned by the same gas station company that been an eye sore for over 8 years. Let's hope that the former owner of that location is paying 100% of the cleanup.
