Mighty Ducks and Blue Jackets seemed pretty away from the grain when they were announced but as each built their brands they became pretty normal. What a great logo to start from!

You do realize they choose this name so they could re-use the old team colours of red and black? So they could revive the "R" on the helmets?

The old name of Rough Riders is owned by Gleiberman who does not want to sell it back.

The Vegas owner wanted something more like the Black Knights, or just the Knights, but ran into copyright issues with the London Knights and the USMA Black Knights.

Heard the US army has an issue with the name Golden Knights because their parachute team goes by that name. I guess Las Vegas should off done some research before they made the choice.
