Because the sellers are just seeing how much they can get. Yes, it's annoying but if it bothers you just close the page and move along like you've been doing.

When I read an ad where there is either no price or $123456, I read it as “I want too much for what I am selling but if I can just get them to call me I can explain why it is overpriced” . I too just skip over those ads.

I love these guys lol (sarcasticly saying) I usually dont get to interested either, however if it's something I'm interested in I play the same game, you put 1.00$ for a saw well of course I'll take that for 1.00$. Usually you dont get a reply back, I dont know why? Or if its 10000386662587 then will you take 5.00$ lol I'm a bit of a troll as they say like that though, but hey I dont take you seriously when you cant post properly so im not going to message you seriously about what your posting simple as that!!

I feel the same when people post in their ad that "low ballers" will be ignored. On to the next ad!

Ya I chuckle when I see that too but I also understand why they do it. I don't sell much on here but almost every time I do you get a few goofballs replying. Like if I put an asking price of $300 do you honestly think I will take $15 or trade for your bag of magic rocks?! Also why I stopped listing my phone number I had one of these special people call me at 6am on Sunday, so that was the end of that.

Could be that they are selling multiple items in the ad and you need to click the ad to see the individual prices?

This why we do it this way. That way we don’t have to put multiple adds on for similar o:bjects that are priced slightly different

If you don't price it I'm not looking. This also applies very much to vehicle sales lots. I do not want to have to ask how much, state a price and we will work from there.  
The biggest problem is that most people consider an item to be worth far more than its value., which is only as much as someone is willing to pay and nothing like any "book" price.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought if the ad states $0.00 you are technically it’s free. I see that all the time too if sellers don’t want to put a price.

If you advertise 3 items, each a different price, in one ad-how would you post the price? I list the items in the ad and post a price with each item, but the actual ad heading allows for only 1 price. I usually post the highest price in the heading. Post the lowest or middle price and there is always some genius who thinks that is the price for the most expensive item...or for all 3 items combined. That is why people post heading price of $0.00 or $123,456.00-you have to open the ad to see the actual prices. Anyone too lazy to open the ad to read the full wording isn't really Interesed in buying anyway, they are just tire kicking, or trolling.

I don't advertise , but I've always thought that pricing an item at $12345 implied that the vendor was open to any and all offers? That a best offer might win the bid?

From time to time I have two or three somewhat similar items for sale. I never lump them all into one ad. I'm seriously interested in selling these items with as little hassle as possible. Each ad will be clear as to what price I'm asking and details on the item. There never seems to be any confusion dealing with ads like this, whether you're buying or selling.

This is funny yes if you are posting multiple items either yes post multiple ads and not just one with 10 different items, or under the description write dresser 100.00$ saw 50.00$ bicycle 150.00$ it's that easy and as far as a obo price whenever I post a ad that's obo under the description I write 100.00$ obo then under the price I write 100.00$ i dont understand the concept behind confusing people it's a very simple method. Also if you post something say a car for example and it says free and it's obviously not free I'll email you and say hey I'll take that for free. This is because that's not what the free category is for, also this is not what the dollar amount category is for, if you have multiple items or prices or whatever just state it in the description and add a actual legit price under the price category. anyways at the end of the day it's your choice but it's obvious that reading all these posts your not hurting anyone but yourselves because most people won't even look at your add so your really lowering your chances on selling any of your million dollar items lol

I agree. I think it's just as easy to create seperate ads. I'm not sure why it's so hard. Adam has it set up pretty well and it's free I'm not sure why it's so difficult.

I've always felt fortunate that there's the amount of passion around the classifieds that there is but at the same time I do like to try to encourage tolerance for the fact that different users will have different ways of doing things.  
 
It is easy to create separate ads and it does result in all of the seller's items getting more attention so thats what the vast majority of folks do...... but if some find it easier to list together thats their prerogative. For the odd person that does list items together its possible that its just a case of old habits die hard. It used to be a real pain in the butt to manage separate ads and so they might've found it easier to login and edit one ad rather than several. Now when the ads are posted through a logged in account on the main website its easy peasy! Not going to force someone to sell in a way that they aren't comfortable with but I'm always a contact form submission away if there's anyone that isn't yet posting this way that would like to give it a try and needs a hand.

As someone who uses the $1234 option, I usually do it because I post multiple items in one post for different prices. But I can’t speak for anyone else though lol

To bad there was not a way to put the word various in the price box as well as numbers
