It’s about time gas prices start going up. They have been the same price for the past 15-20 years and everyone complains when they go up. I hope gas goes to 3$ a litre and oil to 200$ a barrel. Inflation has brought the price of everything up along with wages in every job Except in the oilfield where wages haven’t went anywhere in the past 15-20 years. So I hope gas keeps going up and wages and busier work comes about it in the hurting oil industry. Have fun charging ur tesla when the electrical infrastructure won’t keep up to how we want to green and it costs you 900$ to charge your battery like what’s going on in Texas. Oil isn’t going anywhere in our lifetime and about time prices start climbing. CANT WAIT!!!

The current asinine electricity prices in Texas are due to an exceptional event combined with their pricing scheme, which is more volatile. We, along with most other places, have some measure of protection from sudden and drastic price changes. There's a good article on CBC that someone else in a different thread linked to.

We are entering a new era.  
The days of fossil fuel extraction along with most industries as we know them are about to change dramatically .  
As automation and alternative power and energy systems quickly evolve in the next 5 to 10 years the world we know and the way our economy works will change forever along with our current comfortable lifestyles and excessive consumption habits.  
The one constant is change!  
We have been economically dependant on fossil fuel extraction for far too long in every aspect of our lives but the next generations are not going to accept the status quo any longer.  
We are each going to have to change too or become obsolete just like our internal combustion engined vehicles, trucks and equipment.

Agree with ABBYSMUM ...................to envision that oil is still and all the wave of the future is inconceivable

This must mean the pandemic is near over!!
