Is Mts home internet not working for anybody else?

had lots of trouble with mts , they always blamed equipment, switched to westman and no more problems with equipment , paid mts for a couple of calls , very unsatisfied customer and i expect service to further decline with bell.you should be happy with westman .

You people that whine about the internet not working since Bell took over...... Got news for you.  
 
Bell hasnt changed anything except the name of everything. Its still the exact same equipment MTS used, same services, same everything except the bill now says Bell MTS. If you have an issue why not call Bell MTS and have a service call, its likely not the equipment at all, most likely just your house and different parameters blocking WiFi signals.

If you're using your own router and having to reset it frequently, switching service providers may not accomplish anything.

Haven't had any issues out here in Minnedosa.  
Sounds like a problem with the router.

I used to have problems with my internet being dropped or not working. After some research I found out that the routers firmware needed updated. Did that and everything worked great.

your internet is down it may only be on your loop. A loop is only a handful of homes/businesses in your area. I had issues and have 2 friends near by and only 1 of them was out of service like I was. Just call MTS and talk to tech support, if it is an issue in your area they will know, or they can determine if it is hardware. Restart the modem and see if the broadband and service lights come on after about a min.

Dumb question. Why not use the router supplied by MTS? You blame the internet coming into the house but have you installed some monitoring software or something tracking traffic into the house to eliminate the parents router as possible cause for problems?

Ok people come on here saying they are paying sooooo much more for MTS and switching will save them soooooo much more money. May I ask where you are getting your pricing from?

Switching internet providers because of it, actually. Heard Westman isn't as good as MTS, but for $150/month cheaper, it might be worth it.

Now I got these directly off the MTS/Wave websites. I didn't use promotional pricing either. Where is this 150/month cheaper coming from?

Honestly I don't care what your mom and dad pay for internet. I don't know what your point was that you were trying to make since you cannot comment on any pricing. I just found it amazing that you can save $150 a month switching internet providers. Heck to save that I would change in a heartbeat to whoever it was regardless. You say it is crappy internet yet you seem to have just fine internet and your parents keep dropping. So it sounds like the internet works just fine if you have no problems. Are your parents running the MTS router and you are running a different one or you using both MTS routers? We had an aftermarket router on our MTS router and had constant issues.....we blamed MTS. Turns out the router of ours was not configured correctly. When the technician came to your house what did they say was the issue?

I had problems with MTS and I found by changing to a different channel in the router it fixed it. You can find the address online for your brand of MTS router and enter it in your browser and then change the channel to a different one.
