At Zenni Optical site you can order progressive glasses so for anyone who purchased their progressive glasses from Zenni were you happy or is it best to go through optometrist stores.

I have been nothing but happy with Zenni...fantastic glasses for the price. I've been ordering for years

I used to buy from Zenni optical and thought they were fine glasses. But the last time, I decided to see an optometrist and buy glasses from FYI.  
 
There was a noticeable difference in quality. I didnt realize that the zenni glasses werent as nice until I compared them with the ones I got locally. But there certainly is a difference

Been getting mine from Zenni for years also. Wouldn't get them anywhere else. Price of glasses these days is outrageous

How do you get measured for the levels of the progressives? I.can see buying regular vision or even bifocals, but how can you get measured for progressives when buying online?

zenni has no customer service so when you go to a optical don't be surprised when they charge you a service fee. also remember where and how zenni glasses are made. overseas and by underpaid and likely poorly treated employees.

but to stay on track of my question I am referring to buy on line "progressive" glasses not regular standard glasses there is a difference in those 2

bought both progressive and regular from zenni. no issues and will be buying progressive again as well as progressive sunglasses. my last prescription sun glasses are sitting at the bottom of pelican lake, lol. I write off the cost as a business expense, legally

I wasn't confident with the measuring for progressive lenses so I ordered my frames from Zenni and then had my optometrist put in the proper lenses.

I have ordered several times. Progressive, progressive for computers and reading glasses( single vision) all are fairly straightfoward from your pers:cription with progressives you cannot order a narrow height I believe they must be 30 or more and they use a standard placement for the changes of vision. Works well for me but maybe not for everyone. Quality is very good and they do several quality tests throughout the manufacturing process.(which you can view results every step) I had one pair that didn't pass and were remade before they shipped out. Must measure your own pd but website tells you how to do everything. The last time i ordered 3 pairs of progressives for less than $350 including exchange and shipping

Your pres:cription has everything, the segment height for placement in the lens is based off your PD and the size of the lens you order.  
No magic

The only measurement you need that is not supplied with your pres:cription is the distance from pupil to pupil. A friend or SO can do this for you easily, We use a string and then measure the string in mm's

This is an industry that screwed themselves by taking 400 percent plus markups. The day of paying $500 to $900 for glasses are almost gone. I say almost because the industry is still telling their stories and getting a few suckers before they leave the exam.  
 
Truthfully, I have received glasses from zenni that I didn’t like. I keep them as a 45 dollar spare set.  
 
I have progressive lenses from zenni, love them.

Their customer service is "we only charged you $20" What customer service do you get locally when you're glasses break or get scratched? are you implying it's all free of charge with a smile? If you want to argue about being made overseas by underpaid employee's I hope you're living in a log cabin and typing this post on a 1976 Texas instruments PC, because that's likely the last time anything in your house wasn't made overseas by underpaid employees.

if Zenni makes progressive lenses with good process way to give good vision same as any optical places for way cheaper prices then that is all I care. I am not looking at kind of services or where they are made from or who makes them or employee wages.

We used to buy our glasses from them all the time, but I will no longer order from there. The last 3 pairs I have had (progressives) have all "starred" or basically shattered all around where the screws hold the lenses to the frames, my husbands have all fallen apart, and the screws they send to replace did not fit the threads. They used to be good, and I used to recommend them, but not now. When I contacted "customer service" which is a joke itself, they would not do anything, not a discount or offer to repair or replace. So, although they are cheap, we will not order again, the quality has simply gone downhill ...IMHO

I've had 5-6 pairs from Zenni including progressives in my last couple pair. For what they charge at the optomotrist where I get my exams I could literally get 10 pair from Zenni. I have never had a problem with quality.

checked at FYI doctors and Superstore both offer a more progressive precision lenses I do not see any different progressive lenses choices Zenni or do they and I am not looking at the right place at Zenni

One pres:cription ago I order my first set of progressives from Zenni. It was my first pair of progressives ever and I did not like to wear them. I am not sure if it was the lens themselves, the fit, getting used to progressives in general. (65 bucks)  
 
The most recent pres:cription, I got a set in town and chose the best progressive lens and got used to them in no time. (350 bucks)  
 
But a friend got her first set at Zenni and all those after that and has had no issues at all.  
 
I don''t know it that helps your decision bUT it's our experience.

because Superstore have 1/2 price of glasses this I decided go with them. Later I may buy extra from Zenni (or other site) including some sunglasses from them.

Sorry, I disagree with you! "The odd pair of glasses that aren't perfect..." could be causing damage to my eyes because my eyes will be straining to counteract the imperfection. My eyesight is too valuable to me to mess around with glasses that aren't perfect. I agree, the cost of glasses is outrageous, however I prefer to purchase my glasses locally so if I do have issues I can go back to the vendor and have the issues corrected.

Firstly, wearing the wrong glasses won''''t damage your eyes.  
 
This discussion is the same one that happens in our house, my wife insists buy local. She paid $639 for her last pair.  
 
I buy from Zenni, last time I bought a computer progressive and a set for going out. $138 2 pair delivered.  
 
Call me a diva, I have more glasses than I have belts.

My progressives are from Zenni and I have no problems  
 
I have pres:cription sunglasses also  
 
I used to get from FYI but could not afford them anymore.  
You can phone their 1-800 number and they will help you

other than Zenni optical what other on line sites can you order glasses?
