S10 Notes app won't open after last update

I could open the app and see the preview of each note, but if I opened the note, it appeared blank. I could share the contents of a note with myself (text) and then actually see the content when I shared it in that way.
After fiddling with Samsung tech support, who put a new note on my phone, that I could see on the preview screen, another tech told me my data was lost. I can still see the preview screen now for only a few seconds. I can no longer access an individual note & share it. At least then, I could save my info otherwise.
I was assured that I wouldn't lose my data when I went to back it up, but when I went to do so, nothing at all backed up on my phone and I was told by a different tech that it is lost (all other content, such as pictures, still exists). What??? I was told this app (theirs!) is no longer compatible with their newest update. Again...what?
Samsung notes wasn't accessible to open & alter before I contacted them, but I could still see that hidden content if I emailed it to myself. Now...nothing. The app just shuts down. It is now worse than when I discovered the issue.
I am so angry, because now I have less access to my info on there than I did before contacting them.
Is there any tech smart person here that can help me? Will this app be useless (the whole app is no longer working)? Will a further update by them possibly fix this? It makes me reluctant to trust more updates.
