2Wire Router Malfunctioning???

My router has been acting erratic the last while. Accessing web sites is becoming hit or miss and my Wi Fi seems to have quit altogether (ie., my phone is not recognizing the local network) Does this sound like the router has quit, or could it be something else?

was doing the same thing on the north hill. One of the 3 lights in the 2 wire was red (they should all be green) . Working OK now all lights green.

It could be a faulty modem if it got a shock, but if you have an old 2WIRE modem still, its time for an upgrade.

It's also possible that the network cabinet has power issue or water damage.

May be worth a phone call to customer care for some troubleshooting and possibly booking a service call.

What speed you have with Bell MTS? And what speeds do they offer in your area. Any which way you look at it your long overdue for an equipment upgrade...

My 2wire modem is also messed up. That was the earliest date I got so hurry and call to make the appointment. Hopefully no one else with this problem has to work from home with internet...

Router has internet connectivity and Wi Fi again (had to manually restore WiFi) Been having issues since the storm Sunday. Still don't understand how the WiFi service was disabled.

The router is a 2Wire 3800HGV-B Gateway model, Hardware version 2700-100531-008. Not sure what MTS is using for their current routers/modems. This is the original model that came with the MTS TV package when it was first rolled out here.

What speed you have now? Because if you have 50MB hs or higher Bell MTS has the Home Hub 3000 Gateway.
Better wifi tech, faster wifi options, etc. But it depends what HS plan you have. I know from personal experience after upgrading old equipment. ...

My current router is configured to support transfers up to 54mbps. I am subscribed under MTS Lightning internet plan.

My bad. I reviewed my internet plan and it's now called Bell Fibe which supports downloads up to 10 MBps and uploads to 2 MBps. Not sure how much I would have to gain by upgrading to a newer gateway.

If you're on the 10mbps then you don't technically qualify for the new modem. Though you could get the new ish 5168 which will be better than what you currently have.

Old modem are silver, newer ones are black, 5168n and Home Hub 3000.
