I have a VCR Head Cleaner but it is quite a few years old. It's a VHS tape that comes with a small bottle of solution that you squirt in the opening of the VHS tape.  
I was going to use it, but the bottle is empty/dry. There is no list of ingredients on the bottle.  
Just wondering if anyone knows what I can use instead, maybe alcohol?  
I will Google it, but maybe someone has a quicker response on here. Thank you.

I remember always using rubbing alcohol

Best head cleaner is isopropyl alcohol, used on a foam-end Q-Tip. This requires taking off the top of your VCR and gently rubbing the alcohol soaked foam left and right across the heads in the head drum. Tape cleaners, especially the dry kind, just abrade the surface of the heads.
