Westman Wave Speed Increase
1/31/2009 at 2:51 PM
Just noticed that Westman sent me through an email saying they have increased the Speed of Wave to 8Mbps, which I thought was pretty decent! The increase should have been done automatically on the 26th. Anyone noticed any speed difference?
I've always found Westman's internet far more consistent and reliable than MTS's, I guess this just further increases the divide between the two services.
For those with Westman's "Ultranet" service, that speed has also been increased, to 12Mbps.
Should see the details in your westman address
Here's a quote from the email I received:
Westman Communications Group continues to be western Manitoba’s leading high-speed Internet provider and is committed to being the fastest high-speed Internet service available in western Manitoba. We’re very pleased to be able to give you a substantial increase in WAVE high-speed Internet.
On January 26, we increased the speed of our WAVE service by 33% - up to 8 megabits per second (Mbps). This increase in speed will be automatic to you as a valued WAVE customer and you will not be required to make any change to your computer.
