Who can tell me their experiences with SKYPE?

I get the concept, and currently I make lots of LD calls under the monthly unlimited plan with MTS. Does anyone use Skype and from your perspective what are the pros and cons, what EXACTLY is needed to Skype, and just anything about it. Must have had some brain fog when trying to research it, so who better to ask than reliable ebrandoners? Their site confused me a little with costs involved. Many of my calls are pretty cheap even internationally. Can anyone give me their input?
