I have been thinking about getting a net book, not so much for the internet but more for writing. I would like to have something smaller than a laptop with a good battery to carry with me so I can write when I find that I have a few extra minutes.  
I was looking at the ones in Walmart and clicked on Microsoft Word Doc and noticed that it is a free trial for 2 months and then it would have to be purchased for the sum of $150 (the saleman told me). I left it sitting there because I could not see paying that much more money.  
Two years ago I bought an Acer laptop from Walmart and I am sure that for some reason I was offered a free Office.org set up, maybe for registering my computer online(???).  
I am wondering what others have done for this ... have you spent that kind of money just to be able to get Word Doc???
