Wireless Routers

I bought a router from Future Shop, and had MTS DSL, then went to wave. After I went to wave the router would not work, the company blamed the computer comany, computer company blamed Wave, wave said it was a faulty router. Future shop would not take it back.
Why did it not work anymore?
And any brand suggestions as to what to get next...
