MTS Email with Hotmail (Questions)

Is it possible when I transfer my MTS email address to the Hotmail service to have it automatically forward to another email address?
If so, does MTS/Hotmail require me to login to my email account every so often? Or since it is with MTS, my account wont be deleted after so many months because of not logging in?
