Ipod HELP!

I have an 8mb Nano that I use for work and this morning it froze! It is stuck in one playlist and will not let me scroll, or do anything for that matter!
I really don't want to have to buy another because I need it working by 6:30 tonight and I do not feel nor do I have the time to drive into Brandon.
Has this happened to anyone else - is there anyway to fix it? I am hoping that maybe it is just dirty and can be cleaned.
Help!
