I have an old computer that still works - spreadsheets, word processing, Quicken accounting, etc. that has been gathering dust for many years in my basement. I upgraded a number of years ago because the old computer required more upgrades for some of the newer programming I needed to use. I still have personal information (financial, etc.) on it so I was/am reluctant to give it away and I don't know how I can purge my personal information but keep the programming. The computer came with everything installed so I don't have original programming to reinstall after everything is wiped. Is there a place where I can take my computer to be purged of personal data and reused? I would hate to see it end up in a landfill.
