If you do some research, all those privacy "issues" can be turned off, they just happen to make them all "on" by default.

How do you turn them off?

Yea, so far there seems to be a lot of having to opt out of things in this new version. The email you mentioned, the wifi sharing, also they are sharing updates using your connection peer to peer if you don't opt out.  
The forced updates that you cant opt out of, I don't know how many times I have run into drivers they send that don't work properly or crash your computer. So far I am not liking windows 10.

The more I read up on these Windows 10 privacy issues the worst it gets. I think I'm going to stick with windows 7.

Just to add, if you want to save your favorites from the internet, make sure to copy them to a usb or something before upgrading.

I installed 10, but after a couple days realized , for me and what I wanted/needed, Windows 7 worked just as well, if not better. So I reinstalled 7.  
 
Was 10 "smoother"? Not really. Faster (loading seemed quicker. I prefer IE11 over their new browser,Edge. Though edge has more features, it's handling of the favourites list isn't as clean.  
 
For those highly into the social side of the internet or gaming, Windows 10 is the choice. For me, maybe later, but Windows7 works just fine.

This is another reason why I will NEVER go back to Windows!! Mac OSX for life!!

don't log in via LIVE account, and just keep it a local account on the PC. Do not use Cortana as it is just BING with a new face and name.

Win10 does offer the options and settings to opt out of these tracking.  

Sounds like you have to be a computer programer to get all the stuff disabled, and then you still don't know if it's safe to use as he says in the end of the video.

Let's not fool ourselves. If we want complete safety, don't use the internet or our smartphones.

The funny thing is that the website you accessed to obtain this startling information probably has at least 30 3rd party trackers recording your information the moment you open it.  
 
This is nothing out of the ordinary and the only way to avoid it is to disconnect yourself.  
 
Nothing is free, you just may not know how you are paying! If you think the Ads on the right hand side of this page are random, think again!!  

If your comfortable in giving microcrap all your information then privacy doesn't really matter to you anyways. Myself, I don't hand over my information to anyone and have no need for a smart phone, I have a secured computer that I use for being online that removes all tracking cookies.  
 
Defiantly free is not the term I would use for this operating system, might as well download a pile of spyware into your machine that uses your bandwidth to supply everyone else with there software.  
 
To add, for those who have restricted bandwidth, don't forget to turn off the peer to peer update sharing.  
 

If you use google, then yes your being tracked, along with fakebook and many others.  
Giving up all your information online just ends up with identity theft and 2 grand going missing from your bank account and you having to wait for an investigation to hopefully get it back, seen it several times now.  
 
Funny how everyone trusts these companies, not all there employees are morally sound.  
 
Just in case, I was mentioning to shut off the peer to peer sharing of updates in windows 10 for people that don't have the bandwidth, sending out updates for microcrap from your personal computer can add up if you have to pay for extra gigs and can slow your connection.

Installed it last night with no issues. When it asks for express install navigate to custom install. I turned every sharing feature thing off. I value my privacy. Every time you install anything or update read it and the lil boxes!

After some more research into windows 10, this is total spyware. Any decent computer tech would not recommend installing this software on your computer. This and the fact that in the agreement that you agree to you pretty much give microcrap authority to copy and use anything in your computer, listen into all your conversations, read all your emails. This program is an assault on any type of privacy you had on your computer.

Cannot get it to quit spying on you, they have now admitted.

Doesn't matter what mainstream OS you use Windows or Apple you're being spied on just like you're on that precious mobile device.

It's gotta be true, I read it on the Internet.  

There's are programs which can stop windows 10 from 'spying' on you. I have Destroy Windows 10 Spying 1.5 (DWS Light)on my laptop. Having said that, if you are not careful with this program, you can lose your Windows 10 games and you won't be using Windows Defender.  

Do some research and have a look at your network traffic, its not hard to figure out, sorry that I didn't go threw and make a list for yea myself.

If you think that a few tracking cookies that can be easily deleated, telling them what you watched on YouTube and what you searched for on google is even close to recording everything you type, say, send and do then theres no point in even discussing it with you.  
Tor is an anonymous browser, duck duck go doesn't track your searchs, windows 7 with some of their latest spyware updates removed or not installed with a decent firewall can make you almost entirely private.  
Not everybody out there is willing to give up all there information to strangers to keep on there servers located who knows where with who knows who looking threw it.  
If people refuse to use it they loose piles of market share. Like the release of win8, they tryed to fix it with 8.1 but the damage was already done. Same as win10, if people refuse to upgrade to it then they will have to do something about it.
