Is anyone still watching Global TV over the air through an antenna? We were getting an excellent signal until just over a week ago. We lost the channel and have not been able to get it back.

Hmmmm.....Will have to check that out. Didn't realize till Aug long that in our camper we got Global in HD.

Same we lost the signal about a week ago. I wonder why? Now we are down to one channel in camper

I finally got tv in our rv, then sold it for a different one and can't get any channels! We camped at Bird's Hill a couple weeks ago and got 6 digital channels and most were HD! So, the answers to the OP question interests me as well.

We did have reception but we have lost it too. We tried to pick up the digital signal on more than one tv too. I think it's time we contact global.  

Thanks everyone. I'm glad it isn't just us. Hopefully it will come back. I e-mailed Global about it a couple of times and they have not replied.

I have received a reply from Global saying that they are working on the Basswood Tower and the work should be complete by the end of the week.

I heard that tower work related to taking down the old analog tv hardware is happening this week. Star FM and NCI will be transmitting less power than normal as well for the safety of the workers up there. Global doesn't seem to have the ability for low-power for occasions such as this.

Do you need a cable box of some kind, and I take it you need a HD TV. Our trailer only gets the CTV feed from Winnipeg through the antenna on an old style TV.

We had a 2006 model trailer, but used a newer flat screen which would search for digital and analog channels. To use an older tube type tv for digital channels, one would need a converter. I was able to get CBC at home on that rv, but we have a different rv now and cannot get any channels, but I have not tried the newer flatscreen out of the house for any digital channels.

Our camper has this mushroom looking antenna on the top that is able to get stations over the air. All I had to do is hook it up and scan for channels on our tv. Our tv is about 4 years old, a heavier flat panel compared to today. At the dealership they said when they go to the US they get about 40 HD channels down there for free. Haven't tried lately but was getting Global HD and there was another one but it was coming in with heavy static so I didn't bother catching the station.

That is what I was told by the rv mechanic that goes to Phoenix area every winter. Doubt that you get that everywhere....would think the larger populated areas would have more.
