    I have a Iphone 5 and a Ipad mini 2. The chargers for both have the same plugs. The Iphone say 5 volt 1 amp out put the Ipad says 5.1 Volts 2.1 amps out put. Can I use these on either? I would think the 2.1 amp will just charge quicker. When I travel I would only need to carry one.

    Essentially identical. One is just a newer, improved design. Capacity may have been increased for performance, or decreased for safety. 5% gain in charge current would result in a very little reduction in charge time that is likely not even noticeable.

    Yes the volts are 5 to 5.1. Not a problem. But the amps are 1 to. 2.1. I know on a charger for cars are 2, 5 or higher amps, that just charge quicker. I would think Apple chargers are the same.

    Oops! I thought one was a 2 amp and the other was a 2.1 amp. My bad. I would use the larger one on both. That's likely the one that came with the iPad I would think. It's just a max rating. The device will only "Draw" the amount of current to charge itself, but yes, the smaller one might take longer to charge the iPad.

    Iphone or ipad.

    Put on airplane mode while charging. Charges three times as fast almost. But no calls or wifi will work.
