Wifi Interference Mess
11/12/2016 at 11:41 PM
I have been encountering an issue for awhile now, am hoping someone can give a few pointers.
My wifi connection has been awful for many months now (though intermittently). Though I had initially thought it was ISP related, after some digging, I suspect outside interference is the main culprit.
My gateway was (far as I know) defaulted to channel 1. As seems to be every router built and installed. Hence why I first called and asked to have my channel changed.
So we tried 11. Which just made it worse since there was so much overlap around it that my kitchen (maybe 15 feet away) became a dead zone.
Only problem is, pretty much EVERY channel is either used, or overlapped. Which has only gotten worse since some aparently duo channel routers are starting to show up to.
I will i:nclude an image of the wifi picture of my area.
What can be directly tethered, is. Is there any recourse short of wraping my whole house in tin foil?
Or expecting techs setting these things up to do some coordination so this dosen't happen?!
