Since last month, my internet service from them has been inconsistent. The net will work 100% fine up until about the last week of the month where it'll slow down to a crawl and stay that way for a week straight, making browsing the net a real pain in the ass. This happened last month and it's happening again this month. I really hope this won't become a trend.  
 
I'm thinking perhaps Westman are engaging in what's known as 'bandwidth throttling' (although that wouldn't make much sense as I really don't use up all that much bandwidth per month). But I may be wrong.  
 
So, I ask: is anyone else experiencing this? If so, do you know what the hell's going on? Now I realize I could call Westman asking them what the hell's up, but it really is not much fun having to listen to elevator music over the phone for 30+ minutes straight . . .  
 
Anyway, thanks, folks. Hoping to understand what exactly is going on here.

Tech support does work after regular business hours so really you shouldn't have a long wait if any.

Ours has been great, often multiple smooth simultaneous streams. Best to call help desk at 571-0501 to get help diagnosing what might be effecting your particular setup. The last time we had any kind of issue several months ago the support crew were super good at going as far as sending someone out when it was clear the situation needed it. They checked something outside the home in our neighbourhood and then changed some kind of outdated part in our house and then we were off to the races. Good luck!

As well mine has been ok in Souris, wondering if it maybe a node overload too many on your segment, best too call the help desk.

there are technical reasons that can limit the trouble to just your home. Give them a call and have them look at the readings your modem reports back to them which is tracked. My guess is that there are clues which can only be had by making that call...

I have a very similar problem happening now.About a month ago,the net was very slow & would lose the connection at times.Then the problem resolved itself for a few weeks,but is now doing the same thing for the past week.  
I have not yet contacted WCG so cannot offer any advice.

We haven''t really had any issues not related to our hardware (and it''s always been our hardware), and we use A LOT of data as something''s always going (we homeschool so we use the computer, etc during the day, everyday). We have no problems using the Roku and 2 more devices (sometimes 3) on top of that simultaneously *although* it does slow down at certain times of day a bit (we really only notice it on the Roku with the video streaming - at around 5 p.m. or which makes sense due to neighbourhood usage).  
 
Are maybe all those who are saying you''re having issues located in the same neighbourhood?

That their tech support is super good. Usually it's quick, and my husband uses their online chat sometimes too if he doesn't feel like using the phone (with 4 kids in the house it's sometimes not feasible to be on the phone anyway, LOL!)  
 
I would suggest you call them.

Meant to add that I was a little surprised by the 30 minute comment too (possibly was a bit of hyperbole?). In what I do for a living I deal with a lot of tech companies' support departments and the 30+ minute thing does definitely happen with large companies that it shouldn't happen with.... but when it's come to experiences with Wcg the only waits I can think of that were more than a couple minutes were the 1 in 5 year wider issues where literally half of the city was probably trying to call them at the same time.
