they have towers set up all over, ei on the trans Canada highway there is one beside the campground Shady Oaks/Sidney MB.  
You have a receiver on your house. Sometimes it can be too small because of trees around you and cannot clearly see their tower...  
 
If you're having problems with internet... contact them. I have the biggest package of their older stuff (100g, with netset coverage) so If my tower on the roof acts up they'll come fix free..

It's not the signal I'm having issues with, it's that the app I'm using thinks I'm not in Canada

They usually use the who is servers to determine if the IP address is from Canada that being said I don't know about net set the only other thing I could see it being as you could be using a VPN if that's the case try turning the VPN off. I have to use the net set at a friend's house and haven't had any problems with my free range TV through Shaw and I know if I turn on my VPN and connect the United States it will work as it says your oUT of country.

Would a new router fix this? I know I used a vpn a few years ago to get to American Netflix, but haven't used it for a couple years and have no idea to fix it.  
 
Used an online thing and it says the server I am using is located in Atlanta, Georgia. So I'm assuming that's my problem, but I have no idea how to fix it.

If the setting is in your router it would be easy to fix just need to know what kind of router you have you could probably just do a default on it as in reset it.

I could try and help by phone tomorrow I live out of town. If u like pm me it could even be a problem with your dns if u have change that as well.

so the tech way to find out what and where you are routed is in a dos windows  
( go to command or CMD )and type Tracert and the website you want to go to  
treehouse.com  
that will come back with all the servers you are hiting till you hit treehouse

go to www.whatismyip.com , get your Ip , that is you  
then go to a map tracert many on web
