Hi, was thinking of switching to Westman and is Prism a replacement for the PVR? How's the quality and is it reliable? Thanks.

I guess as opposed to the alternative MTS, it's ok. But, I've had the Prism for almost 4 years and in that time I've had to have the system serviced a lot. My internet cuts out a lot and I've had to reset the gateway often even though they've replaced cords and tinkered around with the boxes and gateway. Sometimes programs don't get recorded because of disk space conflict when I have hardly anything recorded on the DVR. I've also found that the wifi signal strength isn't as good as it used to be. The first six month cheap trial with extra channels is nice, but very expensive after it runs out. Even bundled and basic channels isn't cheap. But that's my experience. Maybe you'll have better luck and get a better deal than I seem to get.

Won't be keeping it after the six months are up.

The signal seems to go out at least once per show. The user interface is far more complicated than it needs to be (hard to get around in their menus- of course I am used to an Apple TV Remote that has three buttons to do everything). Seems to constantly drop drv stuff.

you are the one that will have to call and tell them, you do not want to continue with the special. They will not call you to tell you it is up, they will just keep it on and keep billing you.

You probably knew that, just a friendly reminder.

We've had ours for a year and a half and have only made one service call. It works great for us, and we do a LOT of recording.

We got westman around december also taking advantage of the 6 month promo deal... Tv and internet...we've had no issues at all. only thing i do agree on is their menu/guide and how to navigate is confusing as hell. i like bell expressvu better myself .. But thats just what im used too. I still have no complaints bout their service.

Way better internet service then MTS by far!!!!!!!!!

Not officially announced just yet but was told when I called in last week regarding a Prism system that they're close to rolling out a Tivo-based 1TB system. Tivo-Pace MG1 is what I was told was the hardware.
