Probably doesn’t matter in this instance, but it could be creepy in the wrong place.  
 
Put tape over your home “internet of things” inside cameras, folks. Never know whose watching you from your TV, your tablet, or even your phone.

I've always made a habit of covering/hiding the keypad of the Interac machines in the gas bars and stores, not because I'm concerned that the cashier or a customer might see, but more just in case a camera is focusing on that area. I also do not have a webcam. I find myself wondering sometimes if any of the surveillance cameras located almost everywhere we go these days also have audio. LOL, are they listening to us as well as watching us?

Mostly it would be grrrgllpppy gack grrrrr, ick ick.  
 
CCTV camera are the cheapest camera out there. They are not for identification, they are for deterent. And? What thieves do not like the most? Those parabolic mirrors. They think "we can see". We can't, but, they work as a deterent.  
 
I only shop at places I trust. I pay for my gas inside.

So, people probably dont care much but..  
 
CCTV stands for Closed Circuit TV. If it's live-streaming online or in anyway has an internet connection, it's not CCTV...because it's not a closed circuit.
