Cross stitch: Needing some assistance

Hello! I am needing some help with a pattern im trying to cross stitch. I cant seem to sort the different colors of thread properly. I tried sorting the blues but then realized i dont have hardly any greens and I'm trying to sew it according to the pattern. Can anyone with experience help me or point me in the right direction?

Are your threads anchor or dmc? Does your pattern provide a number with a corresponding symbol for both thread varieties?

The colours can be very close for someone who doesn't do patterns regularly
