I still stand by my original opinion.
Everyone is saying the government should tell us and warn us about a recall on your vehicle, which is complete bull, and will only further drive up our rates for this new "service" you all want.
The onus should be on the manufacturer first, then the owner. It's a 2 minute phone call to find out if there's any recalls on your vehicle. Or if you go to the dealership for your service (I do my own) they'll check when you're there.
Like I said above, when I bought my truck, I stopped in at Kelleher's a few days after I bought it, gave them the VIN, and was out of there in 5 minutes knowing there weren't any recalls on my truck. Easy peasy.
