I think that Brandon East would be served well by either Drew or Len. But we need a Change from the Ndp in this province. The present govt has run out of ideas and needs to by put out to pasture.

Pallister OWNS a home in CR. People have turned his living in a second home into a "chute-show" so if he didn't admit it at first then I don't blame him.  
 
Why the hell would anyone buy, maintain and pay taxes for another home and barely use the damn thing?  
 
A man tries to do good for his wife and family and he gets crucified?  
 
The election issues should be about our province not if one of the candidates spends time in another country for gawd's sake!

Spending is out of control and from today's Brandon Sun Selinger has made millions of dollars of promises in addition to what he has already stated.

Selinger lied about raising the PST, makes me wonder what else he may lie about in the future.

We've had 17 years of worsening medical care. We've had 17 years of declining education. We've had out of control spending and increased debt. We've been lied to about not raising the PST.  
 
Yet we should be concerned about what someone does or where they are when they aren't working, especially if they lie about it?  
 
No wonder that Manitoba is in the sad state that it is in when people focus on STUPID issues. If you haven't figured it out yet, politicians, in general, LIE!  
 
I just wish that we could get someone in power that would do what is best for Manitoba, not themselves or their party.

Neither of the two leading parties have a history of showing much desire to be consistently honest, or of keeping their promises.  
 
The Liberals have imploded.  
 
I wish the Greens had a more robust set of candidates and could challenge for Opposition status.  
 
We have seen too much fear mongering from both sides. It's too bad that politicians do not realize that this leads to voter disengagement.

When Pallister was asked to show his tax return he said, "none of your business", and nobody liked that. (what is he hiding?) When asked where he was during the flood he should have said none of your business, but we know how that is reacted to, so he lied about it. Kind of like, when you walk out of the bathroom and someone asks if you were in there brushing your teeth or that other thing you might do in there. the answer should be, none of your business, but you might lie.

So, he lied? So what? So did Selinger about not raising the PST? They're both liars! So what?  
 
Do you actually think that all the promises that are being made during election campaigns are going to happen?  
 
Do the parties actually plan on following through with all of their promises? Not a chance, so they are all lying right from the start. Why make promises when you know that you aren't going to follow through with them?

It gets tiring reading the same stmts. from the same people from the left, like pallister is gonna sell hydro, he's gonna wreck health care, he's taking too many vacations, etc. Why are some trying to constantly fear-monger and discredit? If selinger has been so good, why not start listing the good things the ndp have done over the last 19 years instead of saying how bad pallister is. This prov. is at the bottom of the barrel right now in so many ways. Time for a change. Pallister is a successful business man, that's the kind of guy i would like running the prov. Look at sask. we used to be on the same level as them, their pop. has grown because the prov. has been prosperous, they have world class companies headquartered there. Their debt. is aproxx. 5 billion and they also have to pay billions in transfer pmts. to other prov.'s they've taken giant leaps forward, we've taken 10 steps back. Time for a progressive change.

To have the balls to raise taxes is the stupigist comment I have ever seen. Raising taxes show you can't handle your own affairs, if you were in business you would declare bankruptcy. Being fiscally responsible should be mandatory if your Liberal,Ndp or PCs. Spending like a drunk in sailor and raising taxes is not respecting the citizen of Manitoba. If the Ndp could get their house in order I would vote for them. "

The NDP has lots of ideas but in my opinion as well has no idea were the money to pay for their ideas will come from. When anyone decides to do something you have to decide were the money is going to come from . If you make x dollars you have to reduce your spending or make more money . In the provinces case it is cut services or jobs or move those resources to another purpose or raise taxes.  
 
All political parties got us into this mess. The next government gets to take over a business that is financially deep in a hole and they are going to have to deal with the books and issues that until they open the cover have no idea how good or bad it is!  
 
I would suggest that Pallister not making promises before actually seeing were we are at financially as a province to pay for these promises is the on of the most logical thinking I have seen from a politician in a long time.

I think it is a huge difference between Pallister lying about where he was on his own personal time and Selinger lying about something that affects the taxpayers money.  
And regarding the flood and Selinger's appearance. Basically a photo op! At Melita he basically was standing around with his hands in his pockets not offering any help. It would have made a lot of difference to people there if he even offered to help carry sandwiches that were being made by volunteers to the people sandbagging. Basically as I heard one person say - He might as well been standing there picking his nose for all the help he was doing!

Do you not consider Drew to be a yes man for Selinger? Drew has stated his loyalty to Selinger over and over again. That is being a yes man.  
 
You have said that you are not supporting Selinger and his NDP party. Why? Do you think the spending is out of control?  
 
Drew stated at the debate the other night he was in favour of the ACC re-development happening "immediately" to the tune of 90 to 100 million. That's a ton of cash and where is it going to come from?  
 
Drew also said no to the Keystone possibly selling or leasing a portion of their land. (could make a lot of cash for KC) Why not ease the taxpayer's burden by looking into the possibility?  
 
If you want to send a message to Selinger and the NDP don't vote for Drew! Maybe the NDP will finally get the hint that their spending is out of control.

Im glad there are a few people that think govt spending is out of control. Balancing a budget means balancing income vs expenses. The lefts only answer seems to be raise taxes (guess they have the balls to do it???). Not once have I heard anyone even think of cutting costs, that seems to be a foreign concept to the left. AT least the polls are showing that the mudslinging isn't working and people are fed up with the current mismanagement. Time to put them out to pasture with their fat taxpayer paid for pension.

These leaders are their own best enemy.  
 
Salinger screwed up not by raising the PST but giving no apology by the leader for a broken promise. Second his reasons re flooding and such should have been followed up by scaled back spending.  
 
Not better faster better ways to spend this new revenue!  
 
I always voted slightly to the right. Brian though is near sounding like a snake oil salesman.  
 
His trips are no biggie. His excuses are semi solid. One answer in a CBC interview said it all I think. Asked if he was elected Premier would his trips be reduced. Probably is a weasel word. One in five days is over kill for a one country visit.  
 
Based on no leader and just the Party it would be PC but when that group wanted to spend provincial money on paved back lanes in Wpg a while back I question their fiscal thinking.  
 
Voting local this election. Dam the results.
