I was wondering what events are happening in Brandon on Canada Day? I usually go out of town except this year, so not sure what things are happening in Brandon...

Has a bunch of stuff going on all day, last year we broke the record for biggest thing of poutine! So that was pretty great. Don't know what the big thing is this year tho

Since the roof work at Brandon University McMaster Hall has the roof top observatory closed. The typical public observing and fireworks viewing has been moved to Dinsdale Park. The Brandon University Astronomical Observatory and the Brandon and Area Astronomical Society will have portable telescopes setup in the park. It will run from around 9:30pm till midnight. Jupiter, Mars and Saturn are all visible in the evening sky, plus other celestial o:bjects will be viewed.  
 
Also if you have a telescope, bring it out.

is having a 50th year celebration all day long. pancake breakfast, cold plate supper, parade, threshing, only a short drive on trans Canada from Brandon

Are they where they were last year??

typically has their Canada Day activities the night before, so June 30th.

When are the fireworks in Souris tomorrow? Around 11?

to think all fireworks will start in the 10:30pm to 11pm range. It will probably vary a bit depending on the organiser.

Can I get information on surronding areas July 1 celebrations... Souris, Ninnette, Douglas, Shilo, Wawanesa ect

Douglas hasn't had any celebrations for two years now I believe

There are tons of activities happening tomorrow in Minnedosa to celebrate Canada Day! Activities include: laser tag, face painting, bouncy castles, antique car show, family wiener roast,wagon rides, reptile gardens, fireworks and much more. Activities start at 1:00, we hope to see you there.

Minnedosa seems have more options for stuff than Brandon for Canada Day.

Where exactly are the ducks dropped into the water?

Carberry Agricultural Fair is happening this weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)!  
 
4-H Cattle Showing and Sale, Horse races, art displays, entertainment including Party in the Dirt (live band and beer gardens) 9pm - 12am on Saturday, baby animal display all weekend, bingo, pancake breakfasts and large suppers, etc.

The duck race is at the riverbank centre. Lots going on there and the fireworks are at around 11 pm. There's a Montana's BBQ in support of the riverbank centre. They are doing the living flag thing again too. Beautiful day for it!

Will the fireworks still go ahead if it rains?

going to downpour, it will go on. But I don't think we have to worry about rain tonight.
