Blackberry: What is the lo-down...

Hey, guys. I'll try to make this brief. I know this gets asked a lot...
I want a blackberry. I am cancelling my Rogers plan because I am moving to a small town in Sask in April. For once, Rogers is actually doing something nice for me! Cancelling for free! Wahoo! So, my question is, is there any cellular provider that would be suitable for someone who travels frequently between Brandon and Sask and wants to own a blackberry? Also, what is the difference between CDMA, HSPA, GSM, and 3G and which networks have what?!? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
