We bought our son a iPhone 5c off ebrandon for his birthday and we want to get it unlocked but mts says we have to have they guy call and say we have permission to unlock it and we didn't get the guys name so we can't contact him..please help!!

You could try computer boys or Apple. I'm assuming you mean unlocked as in its a different carrier and your wanting it unlocked to go on MTS? Try contacting the person you bought it from to see if they'll call and do it, if not you could sell the phone and buy an MTS one. Buying used phones can be sketchy, because if they didn't pay there bill that phones is as good as a paper weight.

I just finished submitting to get an iphone 5s unlocked and am waiting to get the unlock code. Ill let you know how it goes

There is a guy in booth there with a sign saying he unlocks phones

MTS at the Corral Center did my iPhone for $50 before I went to Europe.

Is the phone originally w/mts? They will have to provide the unlock code. If they are saying the original owner has to contact them than that means that the phone is still on his account in some way. He would have to give consent so they know the phone isn't stolen and can be removed from his account.  
 
 
When buying a new or used phone from here ALWAYS contact the service provider with the seller and check the serial number/IMEI before purchasing it. Its a bit of a pain but saves the headaches later on!

If you mean the phone it's self is locked, it's most likely stolen and you won't receive the info. The amount of times this issue pops on on fb buy and sell pages is amazing.

I am thinking they want to have it under a different carrier than the original phone. We unlocked our phone by MTS once it was off contract. Then we moved over to Rogers with no problems.

We just had a Fido phone unlocked....granted we new the previous owner....He contacted Fido....paid them the $50.00 and got the unlock code.....Then we went to Cellular Communications on Victoria Ave across from Giant Tiger....gave them the code...he unlocked it and activated as it needed to have a new sim card.....transferred my info from my old phone for me too.....

Just because a phone is locked doesn't mean it is stolen.....Most newer phones are locked now....one of the reasons is to try and keep the phone with that carrier....it is easier to go through the original carrier to get the unlock code than to have MTS do it....that is what was suggested to us from MTS before transferring my MTS information and number....
