Apple Reuse/Recycle program - BrightStar

Has anyone utilized Apple Canada's Reuse/Recycle program through BrightStar? The program allows a user to bring/send in an older iPhone model and trade in that device for gift card credit toward the purchase of a new iPhone/iPad. I entered an old iPhone 5's info into their webpage and it quoted me a $200 credit: however, I have read some bad reviews online that state BrightStar claimed they didn't receive the phone or once they got the phone they said it wasn't in good enough shape and gave $65 instead of $200. To me, a $200 Apple Store credit is worth it but I might as well continue to use it as an iPod for $65. Just to clarify, the program says that you can take an old phone directly to an Apple Store or do the mail method - I'm just assuming there would be lineups at the Apple Store so was considering the mail method. Any reviews good or bad would be greatly appreciated!
