Yeah, it's an offshore thing, but it's actually a really good service. He's had great reviews from what I've read, and I had no issue with him. My husband even tried to unlock his phone too, but it came back with "unlock not available" and it was no problem getting a refund from him.
I read somewhere (and I don't know if this applies to the US only or to Canada as well) that whoever the phone is locked to is supposed to provide an unlock at your request at no charge. But I think the catch is that you have to be off contract, and you have to ask for it. Plus, I've heard that they're not always quick or not nice about it... kinda like getting your eye glass pres:cription from your eye doctor. They're *supposed* to do it, but no one likes doing it.
