Where's the best place to get a pay as u go cell, I'm planning on putting my daughter on one, but just don't know where to start. Thanks!

IMO rogers has the best prepaid plans.

MTS has the best pay as you go especially if you pay $100.00 for the year and 'assign' certain dollar amount to go towards texting. I highly recommend trying MTS in the mall first.

If you are needing something for basic calling and texting, Chatr has a pay as you go plan for $25 that has unlimited province wide calling and 100 texts

7-Eleven Speakout have the best plans. Look on Amazon for an Unlocked phone and buy the Sim Card from 7-Eleven. I use the Blu Studio C - Supercamera $125.00 for my kids.

Petro-Canada wireless is another option that is pretty similar

i found mts or rogers both have decent plans, $100 cards that last for a year if not used and as long as the next card is renewed before the minutes expire the used cash gets carried over, mts also had a tween plan that had unlimited texting and 100 minutes for $20 a month but depending on your bundle they may get the 30 after bundling for $10 with more features, that is ow it ended up working for us with two cells and home internet, the fourth one put us over the edge to save almost the cost of the kids plan plus came with a free phone, two year contract tho

100 texts? That's highly insufficient.

I have a MTS plan for my son. 300 daytime minutes. Free evening and weekends calls within Manitoba. Unlimited text. You can add a data plan starting at an extra $15 a month

Pay as you go/no Contract:  
MTS has $15 per month for unlimited texting, 25 cents a minute for calls (my kids don't call much so this is cheaper).  
 
$30 for unlimited texting and 300 anytime minutes (but the other plan is better for us as they really don't call much)  
 
You can add on data if you want starting at $15 but they can just link into the internet for free at home, and in many public places so we don't bother with data.  
 
Looked into Rogers and it was pretty similar.

I got a used Samsung cell for free from a family member that was off contract, and I just popped in a new SIM card and paid an online thing to unlock it.  
 
I have a Rogers $120/year that gives me unlimited texting. Love it. It doesn't come with a lot of daytime minutes (only 50 for a year), but free evenings and weekends.
