Is this process going to go over smoothly, or is it going to be a gong show?

It could go either way, it’s fairly easy to purchase medical stuff so regular stuff could be just as easy. There is a shop getting ready to open by wine sense on 18th

I am sure at first will be very busy to see what the fuss is about. Then the novelty will wear off. Honestly unless they keep the prices low it isn't going to change much. There have been numbers tossed around the $10/gram mark. I really hope they have better pricing than that, especially if you are buying larger quantities, otherwise people will just shop online.

I can buy pot online shipped to my doorstep for about the 6 dollar a gram mark. Without having to go into a busy store and have a bunch of public see my face. ( I have a job I don’t really want people to know I smoke in my spare time ) I have a hard time believing the local shops will be able to beat that.

that as of oct 15 online dispensaries will have to shut down or have to pay a fine per transaction unless it is a l.p. which will make it hard for online illegal dispensaries to stay open

I think Brandon is set for 5 marijuana stores to be opening up.  
 
there is one on 18th next to freshii.  
Another on Victoria, across timmies/mcdonalds.

I'm also really glad that people will stop getting criminal charges for possession. Because what's the worst thing that could happen by getting high currently, as long as you're not driving high? Criminal charges and a record. And if the punishment is the worst outcome of doing the crime, then it's time to take away the punishment.  
 
I barely smoke anymore, but I'm definitely going to buy some when it's legal. Whether or not I smoke it that day, I don't know. But I'm going to celebrate being able to buy it. I hope it's a gong show. I hope there's a line around the block to get into the store. It will be a line of happy people.  
 
And when (not if, and it's going to be soon) the supreme court tells Pallister that he has to let us grow four plants like the feds allow, I'm going to plant some in my house as well. Because it's just a plant.

Buying online at this point is quasi legal for recreational purposes, why continue to purchase online once it is legal at a store in the community?  
 
I will be more than happy to purchase from a legal supplier where the quality and lack of unwanted ingredients is assured. And I am willing to pay a premium for that.  
 
As far as someone seeing your face, that social stigma will take some time to go away. However, as this is a legal product having my face seen is not a problem.

The online factor will only change if pricing is reasonable. If they charge say $8-10 per gram that will be fine for those that purchase small quantities at a time to consume. For the more regular users that pay $3-6 online for the same quality that is in the stores, online will still continue.

I see $3/g in the not so distant future for top shelf buds. Paying$2.75/g for budget buds at the moment. I will support the free market as long as I can. I pay more then a fair share of taxes,that’s enough.

Is it just smoking weed available or will these stores carry oils and edibles as well?
