I am looking for 78" wide blackout/blockout blinds..none of the regular places that sell blinds have blinds that wide..does anyone have any suggestions as to where to get these...I don't want high end expensive blinds..and don't need all the bells and whistles that come with some blinds..I just want to keep out the sun on a south window in a spare room...thanks

By 4, 2 per side and the will go all the way across. I did that to our large window and it worked great.

Blinds by Anita and ask some questions. I am sure she has a product that would meet your budget to at least make an informed decision.

Try the Ikea blackout blinds or rollers. Do two of their 39" ones across the window and that should work.  
Much cheaper than everywhere else I checked.

I'd go with black out curtains as well if cash is an issue. Giant Tiger and Walmart sell pretty decent black outs in town, or go into Winnipeg and Jysk sells a very good one too.  
 
Blinds are the most overpriced, highest mark up products there are out there. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but if you actually knew what blinds cost these distributors vs what they charge you - you would be sickened.  
 
There is a reason everyone and their dog have blind departments nowadays.

The store you're thinking of on Rosser @ 15th is Interior Images. Yes, they do excellent work if you have the budget.  
 
We have a very large bay window that I wanted black-out blinds for as it's in an east-facing bedroom. I ended up buying a specialized curtain rod at Fabricland and then just black-out curtains at Wal-Mart. It works very well.  
 
But check Fabricland, they often have different stuff than what you find everywhere else. Things often go on sale 30-50% if you can wait until one happens.
