Curbside pickup at Canadian Tire

Hi! Hoping for quick advice from those who have used Canadian Tire's curbside pickup service.

I live outside town and am coming in tomorrow for supplies. Trying to decide between ordering for pickup vs for shipping - I'd like to save myself the shipping costs (and time spent driving back) but not sure if I order tonight, if they will have the order ready for tomorrow. It's a single item. What has been your experience with the speed of the order prep?

Used it tonight. Product ordered and given to us didn’t match the specs for the website. Ordered potting soil. Got 16.3kg bags when the specs said 25kg. About a 35% difference. When we went in to enquire we were simply told that sometimes the website isn’t right. I’ll be shopping in store from now on to avoid such stupidity.

I used this service a couple of weeks ago. Ordered online using a credit card. Received an email same day saying it was ready for pick up. Drove into a designated spot, called the number on the sign and within 5 min they brought it to my car. No problem.

I used this service for the first time today. Ordered in the afternoon online, received an email that order was ready for pickup at the store. Parked at one of the spots after work, called in, was on hold for 2 minutes. I was asked parking location number, my last name, order number and order pin (from the emails). The goods were put on the back of my truck 2 minutes later.

....this is all new to the employees also. It's a learning curve for everyone.....patience is a good quality to have......

Used it a few weeks ago was painless and easy. If this was always an option it is how I would shop. Quickly find online same day pick.

Made use of a week or so ago when it was time to chance a haircut and the kitchen scissors wouldn’t do.

Phoned the store and was given the email address to send a list to of the products I wanted to order based on the website. Sent the email and got a call back within I’d say a half hour that the pickup was ready and gave credit card. Pulled up to a pickup spot in front of the store and phoned the number... product came out to me a few mins later. As much as it’s an extra step compared to more traditional e-commerce, it worked exactly as described and appreciated the chance to buy from the store without going inside.

As for the haircut, well... I’m still me and I see no reason to update what was already a perfectly good profile pic
Totally agree with poster above re patience with stores right now. Stores and staff are working out new processes and the more helpful and constructive we can be with them the better they'll be able to settle into those systems and help us over the longer haul!

I used this a couple weeks ago, I ordered first thing in the morning, but didn’t get a confirmation that it was ready until just under an hour till closing time. And it was for one thing as well. So it was cutting it close to the same day. But it was also in the beginning stages of these types of orders. I pulled up in the spot, called it in, they brought it out quickly and put it directly in the back of the vehicle. I was happy with the service.

As this is still new to Canadian Tire demand is still light so sounds like quick pick ups. I have used the on line ordering before this virus scare and just picked up in store. Worked well.

Have family members that have used Superstore pickups in Winnipeg since it started. Waits were about 5 minutes to get order out to vehicle when it started a couple of years ago. Last week they arrived at 11 in the morning and it was after 1 when they got their order.

Do you just make an online order as you did in past and rather than going to customer service/pickup location area do you just pull into a stall and call customer.er service and tell them your there for your online order?

Yes select pickup in store when ordering online when you arrive to store there is designated curb side pickup spots call the number on the sign gives you extension to use they will
Ask what stall your in

The spots weren’t easily identifiable but they do have small signs on posts.. from what I saw it was generally the first parking stall closest to store minus the handicap parking
