I have more quilting questions. What are your favorite brand of sewing machine? What type of features is really handy for quilting? I am considering purchasing a new machine and would like to know what quilter from around Westman have and any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

really depends on how it is going to be used.  
Are you wanting to just sew pieces together or actually quilt the finished piece?  
The depth of neck is important for the quilting but not so necessary for merely sewing pieces together.  
Do you want all the bells and whistles, computerised, touch screen etc or merely a functional machine.  
There are folks around who will, for a price, do the quilting, you just supply the sewn materials.  
Prices, as you probably know, run into the thousands depending upon the machine capabilities.

I'm not a quilter but have seen no quilts more beautiful than Verna Sparks'. She has a FB page called Verna Sparks Crafts for examples. I know she also does some teaching, is super enthused to help others, and is a wealth of knowledge of where to purchase supplies.
