online eyeglasses/contacts

Just looking for any experiences relating to online purchases of glasses/contacts. I actually purchased a pair of glasses online and was quite happy with the purchase - saved quite a bit of cash too. I may even consider buying contacts down the road - savings there look equally promising. Any thoughts?
