What's open Remembrance Day?
11/9/2010 at 10:55 PM
I thought I'd start this discussion before someone else does, although not for the same reason.
Some yahoo will want to know what's open, because they have a day off from work, and want to waste the day shopping. That's their choice.
HOWEVER, it is Rememberance Day. A time to be thankful for what we already have, for those men and women who served (and are serving) in the Armed Forces, the people who work(ed) for the Red Cross that help others in time of conflict, and of course the freedoms we have today.
Take some time to honour those brave individuals. Even if it is simply watching the ceremonies on tv. Take time to show respect. In fact when the Rememberance Day ceremonies are done at the Keystone, or other ceremonies in Westman, head to the cenotaph in your town. Place your poppy there, or at the headstone of one of the fallen soldiers. When families come out later to visit the grave of their loved one, it would be nice to see people stopping by, even for a moment, to pay resepect.
The stores will understand and still be waiting for you after you are done paying your respects. Thanks.
Lest We Forget.
