I recently read an article about Pop up stores and thought this would be a great idea. I have an empty retail space in Rivers Manitoba, it is about 750 sq ft, and is on the main shopping street. I would like to know what people think of this idea! A pop up store is a short term rental of a store front or space within a store for a few days, week, month etc. The idea is for people who have business ideas, holiday specific businesses, home businesses, or arts or crafts where they would like to set up a store for a low cost for a short period of time with no long term commitment or cost. It can coincide with functions going on in the town, or if someone needs a retail/office space for short period of time. The person renting the store would be responsible for all advertising, insurance, and care of the property during the rental period. I am asking peoples ideas, input and general thoughts relating to a pop up store! What would you do?

If you're not able to get a business in there as is now, I'd say go for it and see who might be interested. For us it's an interesting concept as we may be in a similar situation soon. So thanks for the idea

There is a lot to consider!  
Are you thinking of just one business at a time or multiple businesses.  
You could charge per square feet required.  
 
empty building could be offered for rent for parties or group gathering like a children party, engagement parties, scrapbook meeting. possibilities are endless.  
 
indoor table sales craft or personal items. artist work on the walls.  
 
or maybe just some small office spaces for multi businesses.
