Do you think a subs:cription business that sends feminine hygiene products to your door each month would be profitable in Brandon?
What would you i:nclude (for example, tampons, chocolate, romantic movies)

There's already many subscription boxes with this sort of theme available. You'd be up against a lot of competition.

I don't think it would be profitable all. The items are so readily available at all types of stores. You need to go there anyways for food and what-not. Since you are already in those stores you can just pick up feminine supplies then.

There's a box out there for almost every interest and need. Yes, BrandonBorn88, there's even ones focused for male hygiene needs or adult-themed boxes with condoms and lubes.

https://www.cratejoy.com/ is a good resource for legit subscription boxes.

The feminine hygiene ones already available also come with things like chocolates, bath items, candles, and tea. I think it's a great idea, Bobnles09. The issue is that there's already so many of those types of subscription boxes available to pick from for those interested.

Sorry Brandon is too cheap for this type of service. Also Brandon is small enough that if you run out, it takes no time at all to find a place that sells what you are in need of.

I am sure there might be the odd person that might subscribe, but I really can't see it being worth your while. Just my opinion.

You already did this thread, where most people told you that not only were there already a bunch of online services for this, but that Brandon is small enough that most people will just opt to pop out to the store or order them from Walmart.ca or similar for free delivery. Why start another thread with another angle???

Secondly, why is anyone ashamed of buying this stuff??? Are we ashamed of buying toilet paper??? Seems like a weird train of thought to me.

You and your hubby hit the nail on the head. There is no reason that a dad can't go out and buy feminine products for his daughter if the daughter, mother or anyone else couldn't get it. It's a natural thing. Sure, I get it might be uncomfortable. As a woman getting tampons, birth control or a pregnancy test one may be concerned about who might see you buying such products. However, it shouldn't be a shameful thing and we will be teaching our two daughters that. When you asked people last week about this subs:cription box idea it didn't go over well. I don''t think swinging it in this way will go over well either and frankly, I think it's strange to bring up again. It''s 2017...we know girls turn into women who have periods. My husband will not be shocked when our daughter get older and this happens. And if he needs to go out and get them feminine hygiene products then so be it. I think subcription boxes should be left for things not easily accessed or that are fun to get. I think tampons are just about as fun as toilet paper.

lmao, my husband is way less embarrassed then me to buy feminine hygiene products. I get you think it would be a good idea and there might be some people willing to get them delivered but im not sure the area is big enough to get enough customers that have a hard time just sticking the items in with their groceries as most of us do

Probably not, but if I were going to, I'd just use Amazon or Walmart, which already have direct-to-door subs:cription orders available.

I’ll defer to those wiser that me to give feedback on the need for the service. Two things I’d like to throw out there though...

- congrats on being in the entrepreneurial spirit! It seems it starts with trying to identify a need that perhaps isn’t being catered to and figuring out the million dollar question of whether or not there’s something to it without going as far as losing your shirt. If your gut tells you one idea doesn’t have it, don’t be discouraged from exploring whatever else your creative side can come up with. For myself my first three business ventures turned out to be just break-even. Its not that I regret doing them because I met so many great contacts and got experience I'm very thankful for, but in hindsight in those early years there were weeks where if I got one less contract than I did I might've put myself in a tough spot. It wasn’t until venture #4 (the site you’re reading this on) that I was fortunate to have something that stuck.

- there might be a tendency to go with a “majority rules” mindset when throwing out this kind of idea, but personally I’d be asking how many potential customers I’d need to make a go out of it. Would even say 3 yesses for 17 no’s be enough to explore the reasons for those “yesses” and figuring out if there are enough of them out there?

Not everyone can use a Diva Cup-and it is unfair to keep pushing it on people as a blanket solution.

I think it's great we live in a place that has options. Even if you use cloth pads, it is nice to have a stash of disposable products on hand just in case you are behind on the laundry. Also, if you have teenaged girls it is nice to have products on hand just in case her friends stop by and find themselves needing supplies unexpectedly. Actually, I can see a service like this being great for those with teenagers-it would be fun to get a Welcome To Womanhood care package. That could be an extra bonus if the OP decides to go through with this business endeavour. Have different options for customers in different stages of life-or even offer discreet boxes for those past menopause but who need bladder protection.
