Leaving husband. Assistance help

I am leaving my husband and need some advice. i need to go on assistance and not sure how it works. How do i apply? Do i make to much i make 350 every 2 weeks? Can i have a car loan while being on assistance? How much do you get? does it take long to kick in after you apply! Please help me out if you have any info.
