Can anyone help....why does the bath tub gurgle when the toilet is flushed? Thanks for any insight.

Your air vent is likely frozen over

Likely the problem is a iced up sewer vent on the roof. Whenever you flush the toilet or drain water down the pipes the vent allows for equalization of pressure in the drain pipe, with a froze up vent it tries to pull air though the traps that stop sewer gas from coming back up the pipes and into you home. If you can't get up to thaw it out run a bit of water into sinks or bathtub to make sure the traps are full.

Is this a new feature or has this been ongoing?  
 
My house it was ongoing when I bought it. Previous owners had plumbing added, improperly vented. I redid the venting correctly and the gurgling went away.  
 
Do you have any "wet vents" or is everything tied into the stack?

That is indeed it air vents plugged so it's pulling air from the path of least resistance this being your bathtub but it probaly sucker all the water out of your trap first which now can put sewer gasses in your house .

If you live in a mobile home, it’s a sign that your out pipes are frozen.

Little to no insulation around the stacks..two...had some added but doesn’t seem to help much in this cold weather. Wondering if we might need more insulation to the attic. Boiling water works, but it’s rather dangerous up there. Will need to find someone to remedy the problem for good in the spring.

Our stack pipes are not insulated-no need for that. We used to have problems until we extended the stack pipes 12 inches above the roof line. Have not had any problem since we did it 5 years ago. Used to be on the roof at least a couple times a winter with boiling water.

It isn’t snow getting in the stacks...must be warm air condensing when it meets the cold. Very frustrating.

Could also have something in your stack that allows some air flow but when it is cold and frosty it does not allow air flow. If it were just warm air rising to the cold everyone would have the same trouble. I have seen a dead bird in a stack once before.

Could be something in your stack bird squirrel leaves etc might need to clear a blockage.

In the spring, would love to find out why we keep having this problem and hopefully get it fixed. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

Its icing up you could try putting a heat tape down inside the pipe and plug it in when the vent freeze up. Of coarse it will need to be in there before it freeze up.
