Has anyone recently bought a rural home with a septic tank and ejector? Did you get it inspected prior to buying and who did you use?

We didn’t get a house inspection. Hubby is quite handy so he looked over everything.

we're aware of this. The property is 10+ acres and the ejector is grandfathered.

Would check with your Environmental Officer about the grandfathering. Most old ejector systems are only grandfathered until the property changes hands. A quick call to the rm's office should be able to answer your questions better than Ebrandon.  
 
Also most Environmental officers will have ideas of inspectors/installers in your area

After the rules changed to "septic bad, must have field" , the government at the time was eventually brought to understand they had gone too far in their anti-rural agenda and grandfathered existing ejector systems. I don't know what the rules are if an existing ejector systems needs to be repaired, but they no longer have to be automatically changed to a field when the property changes ownership.

Grandfathered is the wrong term.  
When you sell or subdivide a property with an ejector you need an exemption certificate to keep it. The seller applies for one with Sustainable Development, they inspect it.  
If it’s compliant it can stay, if it doesn’t meet a setback distance it may be possible to move it under the authority of the certificate (but not before) or if it can’t be made legal it will need to get replaced with a field or holding tank.
