So iether this summer or the next i am replacing my shingle roof. I have a 1250 sqf mobile. I am wondering what i am looking at cost wise to replace the shingles or if i should go metal. Course hired contractor. And who is good?

$2000 to reshingle our hot tub room. Metal is quicker and likely cheaper but is too noisy in a rain and hail will dent it.  
CJ construction did a good job for us but he likely won’t take on a roof your size and he is in Virden.

We have used McReals from Minnedosa a number of times over the past few years.  
Always prompt, reasonable and good clear-up afterwards.

A new roof will normally run you approx. $4/sft for basic shingle jobs.  
 
Metal is more expensive, usually about 25% more than shingling.  
 
Can't comment on contractors.

Boulet Roofing is the best out there. Clean up so good, can hardly tell they were there.  
Only problem is the owner is very busy (everybody wants him too haha). He'll never be able to retire at this rate!  
You may have to call a couple times - he can sometimes fit people in quickly depending on location, etc.

We had our mobile 16x80 plus garage 20x22 done 3 yrs ago and the cost was around 5 thousand, I’m sure it has gone up a bit but that’s a ball park !

I respectfully disagree. We have used Boulet several times over the past 20 years and get the same thing every time. They're quick and do a great job. Before they leave they do a great job of cleanup and they stand behind their work. Generally speaking, if a company has been around for a few years, they're probably decent or they would have no work.

I too respectfully disagree. Boulet Roofing has been in business in Brandon for 30 plus years and has done roofs for not only myself but numerous family and friends. One of the few roofers around who actually takes pride in a good job done.  
The fact that he’s been in business for so long and so in demand, speaks for itself.

So.... lets see  
 
A 1250 sq.ft. mobile assuming a 4/12 pitch and no overhangs would have a roof pitch multiplier of 1.04 = 1300 sq.ft.  
 
With a waste multiplier of 10% assuming 2 straight runs would = 1430 sq.ft.  
 
1430 sq.ft. @ $2.65 per sq.ft. (2019 prices were around $2.50 for this work so assuming approx 5% price increase) = $3789.50 + GST for the material, removal, disposal and reinstall of shingles.  
 
This number may move slightly depending on where you are (travel costs), venting style of the roof, specialty vents, sewer stacks, drip edge, damage to the roof deck, bad access to site etc...  
 
For a tin roof your looking at ~$4 per sq.ft. but that depends on the type of tin, thickness etc... that you chose. Also because it doesn't have tin on it already it should be strapped with purlins before the tin is attached which pushes the price up a bit. Lumber and labor to strap a walk on single story building is somewhere around the $1 per sq.ft. range.  
 
meaning total cost on a tin roof should be somewhere around $7150 + GST
