Does anyone in Brandon or surrounding area have a insulation removal vacuum that I can rent for a weekend? I can buy the large 75 cu.ft. bags on my own but I dont want to spend $10K on buying the vacuum itself. I have an attic with old blow in insulation and I would like to vacuum it out prior to doing some maintenance work up there and replacing the insulation with spray foam. If need be I will resort to doing it by hand, rake and large garbage bags (obviously with fully PPE) but it would be nice to just suck it all out at once. I have received quotes from $4k to $10K just to simply suck it out, which to me is a little steep for what I need done. There are tons of places in other provinces that you can rent these vacuums for $300 for a day, Anyone have any suggestions?

You may want to have a look at a product called the cyclonerake. I have one that I used to vacuum our yards leaves up with. Works very well and would likely work for what you are trying to do and it would be a lot cheaper than 10K. There's lots of videos on YouTube about this thing.
