Does the Manitoba electrical code code say that a detached garage has to be wired with 12-2 wire? Or is 14-2 ok?

12/2 or 14/2 are both good for a maximum load or lights , plugs ! The code says nothing about specific size of wire for a garage ! Load = wire size basically

depends on what you wanna do any garages that i wire for people that want to use it for work purpose i normally start at 12/3 for plugs and then do lights at 14/2. if you wanna uste it just for storage you can do 14
