Hi, I am interested in getting a career in HVAC but have no idea where to start. I already dropped resumes off at many different companies including those working for guys and got no response yet. I was wondering what I can do to increase my chances of getting a job. Is the program at red river worth it or are there programs at ACC that would work too. Is there other certifications I don't even know about? Any info helps

I’ve been in HVAC for 15 years. I can give you some tips on getting started

Now are you waiting to be a residential or commercial tech cause there are two different things. Also there are several plbers that do hvac

Though I am not in the industry, youtube is an excellent source of information, even if just as sort of a reference point. Having seen techs working on both commercial and residential stuff, it's neat having these things not just be mysterious black boxes (I like understanding how things work). I assume they are posted in the aid of helping people like yourself.

He doesn't have make the decision of choosing residential or commercial at this time.

in the province of mb they have a residential and then a commercial sector. it is better to go the commercial route cause because you can do everything the residential guys can and more. it also let you go from province to province with out any issue sine residential is a mb trade only. also the schooling after level 2 is different since most guy go commercial this allow them to completed in a faster time if they want.

Call Jason Phillips at 204-727-2011 Capital Mechanical and see what he says. If hes not looking for anyone he could at least send you in the right direction

Plumbers don’t know anything about the HVAC/R trade, in fact since plumbers are not red seal HVAC/R mechanics they are technically not legally allowed to work on anything related to HVAC/R unfortunately Manitoba doesn’t police it but that is in the works of getting changed. Commercial and Residential guys go to school together for the first 3 years anyway and are taught the same stuff, residential guys graduate after the 3rd year and commercial carry on.
